MRS. EDITH BEARDSLEE SUCCUMBS TO ILLNESS
Mrs. Edith H. Beardslee, 74, widow of the late Robert L. Beardslee, died in her home at 723 W. Acacia this morning following a six-month illness.

Member of a pioneer Stockton family, Mrs. Beardslee was born here. Her father was the late John Hammond, a Stockton merchant. Mrs. Beardslee's husband, a prominent Stockton attorney, died in 1926.

A member of the First Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Beardslee had a wide circle of friends although she was not an active club woman. She always maintained her home as her primary interest.

Mrs. Beardslee is survived by a son, Robert L., local attorney; a daughter, Mrs. Edith K. Jones, Mountain View; four grandchildren, Robert R. and Martha Beardslee, and Douglas and Eleanor Jones, and two sisters, Mrs. G. P. Roberts and Mrs. Lesley Munier, both of Stockton.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of B. C. Wallace and Son with burial at the Rural Cemetery.
