17. Jedediah HAMMOND was born on 19 September 1690 in MA.⁹⁷ Jedediah Hammond, fifth son of Samuel, (Benjamin, William) went from Rochester to Scituate, and was first of the name in that town. His residence was west of the North Meetin-House, near the Four Corners. He received land from his father in the town of Mattapoisett, near the salt water, which is still pointed out as the "Diah Place." H m. at Scituate, Nov. 5, 1712, Elizabeth, daughter of Joseph Parker.
