Famous in books and historical narratives because he was invited to go to Nantucket in 1690 from Cape Cod to teach the local fisherman to hunt and kill whales. 18 years earlier James Loper had been there engaged in the same task.

The Mayflower Descendant, Vol VI, 1904, p 151: Ichabod Padock submitted a bill to the estate of Isaac Howland, 17 Sept 1724 for 5 shillings.

Curfman, p 29:

"The most plausible ground for belief that he came to Nantucket lies in its statement as a fact by Zaccheus Macy who died in 1797, aged 83, and hence was contemporary with men who must have been knowing to it (StbNtk 35s). Ichabod did not establish himself there (Nantucket). At Nantucket (undated) "Icahabod Paddock and Latham Garner were disowned for sailing about the harbor 'in a vessel where dancing was performed' and keeping company with young women 'not of our society'" (QNtk 105). Ichabod became the subject of old sea yarns relating his amorous affairs with emerald-eyed mermaids, one encountered in the belly of a whale called Old Crookjaw, their remains having been found when the whale was captured (API)

Ichabod PADDOCK and Elizabeth BROWN were married on 16 August 1707 in MA.56 Elizabeth BROWN was born (date unknown).
