Samuel PADDOCK was born on 12 October 1711 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA.^{311,312,313,314} He was baptized on 11 August 1728 in East Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA.³¹² He died on 27 July 1757 at the age of 45 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA.^311,312,315 Samuel was buried in July 1857 in Paddock Cemetery, East Dennis, Barnstable, MA.^60,316 Great story found about a Capt. Paddock - published in 1739, this would have been about a person that might have been Samuel Sr., but if not definitely someone of his generation. Published int the Boston Weekly Post-Boy, 15 January 1739:

Last Saturday Cpt. Paddock, Master of a Cape Cod Sloop, being on the Bowsprit of his Vessel with a Shovel, to throw some Snow from off the Jibb, unfortunately loosing his hold (and his Feet catching in the Shrowds) which unhappily caus'd him to fall Head foremost against the Gunnel of a Boat, by which Accident his Nose was cut off, (almost as with a Rasour[sic]) that it hung only by the skin of his Upper Lip; he being a strong, hale, hearty Man, no ways daunted, clap'd his Hand on his Nose, and went as fast as he could to a Doctor, bus(sic) he being indisposed could not take proper care of him, whereupon he went to another, by which Means he suffer'd long in the Cold; but at length his Nose was sewed on, and it is hope that a good Cure will be effected.

Samuel PADDOCK and Thankful HOWES¹ were married on 2 December 1744 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA.³¹⁷ Thankful HOWES, daughter of Ebenezer HOWES and Lydia JOYCE, was born in 1711 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA.³¹⁷ She was born on 22 August 1711 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, MA.³¹⁸ She died on 27 June 1789 at the age of 78 in East Dennis, Barnstable, MA.^317,319,320 Thankful was buried after 27 June 1789 at Paddock Cemetery in East Dennis, Barnstable, MA.³²¹
